THE PARISIAN ESTATE LIBRARY PROJECT

Le Roux & Co., curated a unique home library for our client. Positioned as a quiet architectural wing between the clients’ study and the guest accommodations, the Upper Landing is reimagined as an intimate, playful sanctuary for reflection and relaxation. The design intent for this ‘bonus’ space was to bridge the gap between functionality and character, creating a modern library atmosphere that felt both curated and comfortable.

We introduced a sense of storytelling and depth through the use of tonal forest-scape murals framed by signature traditional wall mouldings, creating a ‘secluded space’ aesthetic that feels uniquely separate from the rest of the home. The layout is intentionally multifunctional, designed to serve as a board-game lounge, a quiet reading nook, or a study space for visiting guests. We curated a mix of soft, upholstered lounge seating paired with a minimalistic industrial-edge bench set and coffee table, ensuring the space felt inviting rather than purely formal.

The lighting strategy moved away from standard overhead fixtures in favour of intimate layering, utilizing warm-glow wall sconces, a sculptural dimmable pendant, stylistic floor reading lamp and soft candle light, which is perfect for evening relaxation.
